dai's outlandish yet iconic magician's costume, and the one she is seen most often in. occasionally she uses a prop staff which she has lovingly named "a midsummer night's dream".

dai will introduce herself as the last master of the secret art of glamour magic -- harmless, pretty tricks involving magicked prisms and sleight of hand. unfortunately for her, glamour magic is neither in demand nor profitable, and so this "illustrious master" must resort to mundane work to make ends meet.she's often seen either busking for gil tips with her tricks in ul'dah, visiting the quicksands for her favorite dinner -- momodi's pancakes with extra syrup and whipped cream -- or browsing second-hand stores for new costume ideas.

feats

some of dai's "accomplishments" since arriving in eorzea are listed here:- dai has been unjustly fired from the gold saucer twice after truly outlandish situations that were absolutely not her fault
- after fighting a rival clown in her territory, dai's tail dropped. it has been healing slowly, but she still laments the loss of her beautiful tail
- a large and ill-tempered dodo nests right outside the warehouse dai squats in. after several squabbles between her and the cloudkin, they have reached an understanding and have become "friends"

another fanciful costume dai likes to busk in occasionally. fun fact: all dai's clothes are rescued from various second-hand clothes stores in and around ul'dah.

  • i, the pilot, am 26 years old and use exclusively they/them pronouns. If you'd like to roleplay, please be at least 21 years old yourself.

  • i'm interested in slice of life, plot-based, and casual encounter roleplay. i am not interested in dark themes and have little in the way of ideas for that. open to both discord and in-game rp, but highly prefer scheduling and planning ahead of time.

  • d-list celebrity: people who frequent ul'dah have likely noticed this oddly-dressed woman peddling her illusions on the street for change. her act is quite unique -- it's possible that she lives rent-free in the corner of someones mind

  • down on her luck: dai's income comes from whatever spare change people toss her way from busking and running simple fetch errands in and around ul'dah. after the show's over, the pressure of being a working woman in eorzea's most capitalistic city-state settles in on her features, something a passerby might empathize with

  • all the world's a stage: dai is a born performer and will likely get along with anyone who enjoys being on stage or watching any sort of performance! actors, dancers, and musicians are just some types of people she might find common ground with.

  • a name that precedes her: domans in eorzea may recognize her surname as one belonging to a famous clan of doman opera performers. after the kingdom's liberation, said clan has been slow to regain the numbers they lost. what, then, is she doing here halfway across the star?
